2016 Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon

A relatively dry and cool autumn and winter was followed by above average temperatures with Coonawarra recording nine days exceeding 35˚C in December alone. Record low rainfall was seen across the region with annual average rainfall for Coonawarra down by 38%. PALATE
Silky yet definitely Cabernet tannins. Sweet red fruits on the mid palate overwhelmed by mulberry and blackcurrant yet with a cleansing fresh finish. Oak? Yes perfectly poised.

Aroma
Red berries, cigar box, Satsuma plum, perhaps a hint of Mulberry. Dried herb and subtle mint complexity giving background aromatic poise.
